NYC Latin Sounds & Bands

One of the most influential musicians for the NYC latin Rhytm scene was Nico Gomez. Actually the highly talented musician was from Belgium and his real name was Josef van het Groenewoud. With his NYC Latin Band the Chakachas he recorded the album Jungle Fever in 1972.The band members were Gaston Bogaert (percussion) Kari Kenton (vocals & maracas) Vic Ingeveldt (Dutchman from Liege, saxophone) Charlie Lots (trumpet) Christian Marc (piano) Henri Breyre (guitar & backing vocals) and Bill Raymond (bass). Best Salsa and Latin Funk sounds of the 1970s.
